Heveya's mattress cover quilted with plush organic cotton filling

A puffy organic cotton is used to fill the inside of the bamboo quilted cover, providing an additional layer of softness and comfort. Cotton is a very breathable material and great at absorbing moisture and decreasing humidity. The fabric is cool in summer and warm in winter giving ideal sleeping temperature. Most important of all, the organic cotton is sourced responsibly and is a sustainable material.

Why cotton?

Coming from nature, cotton is the biggest fibre crop in the world. It produces around half of the world's fibre needs. Cotton is so popular because the fabric is soft and breathable. It doesn't trap moisture, keeping the mattress fresh. Being hypoallergenic, cotton is also a good material for those people who are sensitive to allergies.

Besides advantageous for the wearers, cotton is also good for the environment. It comes from nature and therefore it is bio-degradable. It is a renewable and sustainable resource. Cotton production is also a major player in the national economies of many developing countries; helping many small farmers all around the world.

Cotton manufacturing process

Cotton fibre comes from the seed pod/boll of the cotton plant. The bolls are harvested and fed into a cotton gin, a machine to separate the cotton from the seeds. The cleaned and de-seeded cotton then is pulled to form a thin web which eventually condensed into a continuous, untwisted, rope-like strand called a sliver. These slivers then continue to a combing machine and silk fibre added into it.
